The Bright Autumn Festival runs from late April to early May, a great time to experience the beauty of the Alpine Valleys.
Wandiligong celebrates this time of year with the Wandi Nut Festival, a nut harvest celebration that was started by three local women in 2001. It’s a great country festival that features local food and wine, chestnuts, walnuts and hazelnuts, creative activities for the kids, live music, cooking demonstrations (featuring nuts), clean mountain air and a great relaxed country atmosphere.
We will be there on Saturday the 29th of April roasting De Coppi Marone chestnuts over an open fire with Chestnuts Australia. So put this date in your diary and come and sample some tasty roasted chestnuts, enjoy the festival and experience Wandiligong.
The Italian wine and food festival showcases the finest of Italian produce. The Melbourne festival is held in the Royal Exhibition Building in late June.
La fiera is a vibrant festival that brings the town of Myrtleford alive in late May with the sights, sounds and smells of Italy. A culinary performance by Stefano Manfredi featuring chestnuts is one of the highlights.
